Count Krolock

Tällä kertaa valokuvat ovat tooosi huonoja.

 This time the photographs are reeeeally bad.

Homma alkoi siitä kun kävin sellaisessa paikassa kuin Fiskars. Siellä on muutakin kuin oranssikahvaisia saksia, sieltä lähti nimittäin mukaan tämänmoinen riipus.

 This thing started when I visited a place called Fiskars. They have more than just scissors with orange handles because I got this pendant there.

 

 Kun olen koruja tässä muutenkin räpellellyt niin minähän sain siitä tietysti loistoajatuksen: Teen kaverille lahjaksi samantapaisen riipuksen, jossa on Poirot’n sijasta kuva Dance of the Vampires- musikaalin kreivi Krolockista. Eikä mistä tahansa Krolockista vaan Seinäjoen Krolockista. On siinä komia heppu.

 I’ve been making jewelry anyways so of course it gave me a wonderful idea: I’ll make a similar pendant to my friend, but instead of Poirot I’ll make one with a picture of count Krolock from the musical Dance of the Vampires. And not just any Krolock, but the one in the Seinäjoki adaptation. What a strapping fellow.

Ensin piti metsästää korutarvikkeet. Riipuspohja ja lasikapussi oli yllättävän helppo löytää. Paperia jouduin ostamaan kamalan läjän yhtä vaivaista pikku kuvaa varten eikä sopivaa liimaa tahtonut löytyä millään, kun en minä sitä ulkomailta kerinnyt tilata tähän hätään.

 First I had to find the jewelry items. The bezel and glass cabochon were surprisingly easy to find. I had to find lots of paper for one measly picture and I didn’t seem to find suitable glue anywhere because I had no time to order it abroad.

Kuva oli kuitenkin pahin ongelma, kun siinä oli liian vähän taustaa. Jouduin piirrustamaan lisää taustaa tällä viisiin:

  

The picture was the worst problem in the end, because it had too little background. I had to draw some more:

Jokaisen taitavan photoshoppaajan painajainen tämä viritelmä, mutta ei kukaan sitä huomaa kun lopullisella kuvalla on kokoa 18x25 mm. Eihän?

Tulostin 8 kuvaa saadakseni yhden oikean kokoisen, piru vie.

Every good photoshoppers nightmare this thing, but nobody’s going to notice when the picture is 18x25 mm. Right?

I printed 8 pictures to get one small enough, damn it.

Liimaa (Stick it! liima. En tiedä kuinka sen kanssa käy pitkällä aikavälillä, kellastuuko tai irtoavatko liimaukset, mutta näillä näkymin toimi hyvin.) piti ensin testata. Testikuvana erään toisen kaverin piirtämä pupujussi syystä että. Pupujussin vieressä tietysti kreivi itse. Nyt ei ole näistä muuta kuvaa, kosk ovat niin nolottavan suttuisia. Kuten tämäkin.

 The glue (Stick it! glue. I don’t know how it works in the long term, whether it gets yellow or if the glued parts will loosen but so far so good.) had to be tested. As a test picture I used a rabbit drawn by another friend because. Next to the rabbit is of course the count himself. I don’t have any other photograph of these because they're so embarrassingly out of focus. As is this.

Koru piti tietenkin saada rasiaan. Ostin 12 kappaleen pakkauksen todella halpoja pahvilootia. Olivat varmaan vauvajuttuja varten, koska niitä löytyi sinisenä ja vaaleanpunaisena. Päällystin lootan että näyttäisi paremmalta.

 Of course I had to put the pendant in a box. I bought a 12 piece package of really cheap cardboard boxes. They’re probably for baby stuff, because there were blue and pink. I coated it so it would look better:

Ja päälle vielä hämis niin on mukavan gootihtava.

 And a spider on top so it would look more gothish. (I know gothish isn't a real word, but gothic sounds too serious.)

Pitkä selostus, joka ei kiinnosta ketään. No jaa.

Ainakin lahja oli yllättävä. 

 A long narration that interest no one. Oh well.

At least the gift was surprising.
